need really good compiler
i just started learning c++ and im kinda new to this. does anyone know where i can get a really good compiler for free?

I use borland C++ for win32, the compiler, not ide is available for download free. I like it more than DJGPP due to the DOS libraries. For Solaris I use GNU C++ which could very well be used on linux was well.

i know you said c++ but if you're looking for a decent dos based compiler for c, try turbo c from borland, you can get it free off their community site

ummm you know win 98 runs from dos right? and all those compilers except the sun one run under windows 9x and up
