When you were 1 year old, she fed you and bathed you.
You thanked her by crying all the night long.
The first year I was born I spent over 8 months in the hospital
because I was born 2.5 months early. This was in 1975, when
medicine and science weren't as good at saving premies like me.
Dad was told to go home and wait for the call saying I didn't make it.

When your were 2 years old, she taught you to walk,
You thanked her by running away when she called.
I was running at 9 months, after walking the first month I was
home. This on my own from what I've been told.

when you were 6 years old , she walked you to school.
You thanked her by screaming, "I'M NOT GOING".
Never got walked to school. Went by bus or with my dad.
Afterall, in Saudi Arabia, women couldn't drive.

When you were 9 years old,she paid for piano lessons.
You thanked her by never even bothering to practise.
Actually I played the violin for 8 years. But the real question is, what the **** is so valuable about playing the piano? I did get the choice and I liked the violin, so screw the piano.

When your were 11 years old,she took you and your friends to the movies. You thanked her by asking to sit in a different row.
Mom never let us go to the movies much less take us there.

When your were 12 years old,she warned you not to watch certain TV shows. You thanked her by waiting until she left the house.
See above. But at that time, I was more interested in computers, woo!

When you were 14 , she paid for a month away at summer camp. You thanked her by forgetting to write a single letter.
Actually, the only camp I went to was 4H camp that I won a trip to by winning first prize in the electrical contest hosted by SCE&G (South Carolina Electric & Gas) that my dad helped me with.

When you were 15, she came home from work, looking for a hug. You thanked her by having your bedroom door locked.
She's never looked for a hug much less any other form of attention. As it is, from 15 to 19, life completely sucked as we argued every day. Imagine every day being told you're wrong, you're worthless, you're less than nothing, you're a "disgrace to the family", how she wished she never had you, etc etc...and I wasn't allowed to have my bedroom door locked. Sister could, and I had to knock if I wanted to go in for whatever reason but mom and sister could come and go as they pleased.

When you were 16, she taught you how to drive her car.
You thanked her by taking it every chance you could.
I got tossed the keys to a 1989 Ford Ranger 5 speed and told "Learn how to drive on your own.", of which I did, and ended up having to do all kinds of **** like taking my sister to piano lessons every other day, taking her to school, picking her up from places, getting groceries at 10 at night when *I* got home from work, etc etc...

When you were 17 , she was expecting an important ,call. You thanked her by being on the phone all night.
All during HS, I was grounded from just about everything except ROTC, school functions, and parental-guided stuff. Phone was no exception. That and the fact that both parents would just pick up the phone and start dialing, regardless of who's on it.

When you were 18,she cried at your high school graduation. You thanked her by staying out partying until dawn.
Oh that's funny. I got the comment "It's amazing he even graduated.".

When your were 19, she paid for your college tution,
drove you to campus carried your bags. You thanked her by saying good-bye outside the dorm so that you wouldn't be embrassed in front of your friends.
That's even better! I paid for my college because I didn't get good enough grades in HS, so that proved to mom and dad that I wasn't really interested and why should they pay for it? I did one year of college before bailing the **** out and leaving home. And carrying my bags? ROFL Yeah right, generally it was me who had to do ****. Ever since I could hold a rake, broom, or mop I was always doing work, inside and out. Add in the "grades" issue and I was always working at home and had to have a part-time job because I was always told "You have to have a job because this is what people who do bad in school get". Now I'm almost making more than both of them together. Sister got away with doing nothing because she was always doing good and never had to have a part-time job, and didn't have to do anything physically straining because "she's a girl". Bullshit. Where's the equality eh?

When you were 21 , she suggested certain careers for your future. You thanked her by saying ,"i don't want to be like you".
While I've said "I don't want to be like you" (after I moved out), suggested careers consisted of medicine, or business, or education. Where's computers and systems administration in all that? It's not, so we see who's really seeing what's important.

When you were 22 , she hugged you at your college graduation. You thanked her by asking whether she could pay for a trip to Europe.
See aforementioned reply on college. Wouldn't have been paid for even if I did finish college.

You thanked her by moving halfway across the country.
Hmmm, seeing how this is leading up to now, is it a surprise I moved halfway across the country?

These are the ones that were grossly wrong, so not everyone has mothers that are kind and generous and caring. Up until the DAY I LEFT HOME, my parents NEVER said they loved me. For some that's not important. It's not important to me now because I never grew up with it but now they wonder why I don't come to North Augusta more than once a year and for three days at that. It's because I can't STAND to be back "there". My whole life was considered a shithole until I had the first offer of being a sysop at 20. I grabbed *my* **** and left, never looking back. Things are better now but may others never have to worry about that.
We the willing, led by the unknowing, have been doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much with so little for so long that we are now qualified to do just about anything with almost nothing.

Oh, like I asked to be bought into this world.
