Just thought I'd introduce myself as a new member. This seemed to be one of the very few decent security sites out there, and i've always been interested in the subject. Drop me a line if you have any questions.

this is one of the few decent security sites?
Where is the information relating to computer security, I have yet to find it?
what about sites like
are these not security sites?
these are just a few that relate to computer security. They offer much information and are updated frequently. what on earth are you talking about.

Hey Delstar, don't worry about my ignorant pal here, oblio, ...he's just a bit off today...as he is usually everyday. But welcome to the site anyhow. Hopefully you'll be smart enough to post actual security discussions.
Just a few words of adivice: ...Don't get caught up withyouself with flames. They practically mean nothing...unless Negative flames on you... When Negative flames on you ...you know your in trouble...

Greetings Delstar Welcome to the site! I have found numerous people kind, and not kind, helpful and some not so helpful. AO is a good place! A litmus test for a community comprised of all types of people involved in computer security, and in many cases insecurity, regarding their own selves lol. Oblio is an example of the less kind and insecure people around. Disregard him. Galdron is happy, that you have joined this strange community!
Good People To Trust:
KAKOKOOL (KIDDING THIS GUY IS FULL OF IT!) (didnt say **** cause its jesus's b-day)
If I have left anyone out I appologize, as Usual galdron has had far too many beers.
I wish all a Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, Hunnuka, Kwanza, Job Promotion, Sucessful recovery in rehab, and whatever enhances your lives!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't really take any offense to Oblio's post. I've been to most of those sites, and some of them are decent too.
Let me give you some info on me. Right now, I am pretty decent at Assembly and C++. Linux is my OS of choice, but right now I'm working with Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I held a decent techie position at a small integrated systems company for a while, and setup their Linux servers. Right now there is alot i'm trying to learn, though. I'm not that great at C API's right now, and i'm trying to find some decent tutorials on the subject. I have a great idea for a networking utility that i plan on writing sometime, and if anyone is interested in some details, go ahead and e-mail me about it. Gotta jet now.
