    AMD

    I would definitely go with the AMD. Even though they have a lower clock speed then Intel, they seem to be performing as good if not better. Another big benefit of getting an AMD is that you'd probably pay half the price of a processor that performs about the same as it's overpriced rival.

    I like AMD too, the only problem I have had with my computer
    however is stability - though I have heard this is a generic 'fault?'
    of the socket A chipset... Of course Windoze does not help!

    AMD beats Intel hands down on value for me, and that the bottom line
    for many of us.
