"NetBIOS Name" request from reserved IP addressesZonelarm shows "NetBIOS Name" r
ZoneAlarm shows "NetBIOS Name" requests from the following IPs 10.16.2.169 , 10.11.2.30 , 10.8.3.73 , 10.0.10.110 and more, all UDP.
It happens everytime I connect to my ISP, dial-up, dynamic IP.
As far as I know those are reserved for private networks. So they are from my ISP network machines or users. Is that right?
Is there any way to know which machine is trying to get my "NetBIOS Name" and why it is doing it, while it dosen't happen in other ISPs (others that I have used at least)?

Is your connection working normal?
If it does and ZA blocks the request there is no problem...
Some ISP's try to get your NetBios name for reasons they believe are worth it

I Wouldn't Worry, Dear Boy...
What you describe is, indeed, one of those rare circumstances for Zone Alarm, but don't fear! Victor's response is correct...

Thank you VictorKaum and Kewl_Zero,
My connection works normal.
As I undrestood, all requests are from my ISP, although they seem to be from many different 10.*.*.* IP addresses.
Sorry if the question was more suitable for "Newbie Questions".

Well, as you stated the IP's are different but all within the same range.
this means they are all part of the same LAN.
That they differ could be due to the fact that one is for instance from the ISP's proxy, another from the second webproxy, etc.
It could be that the ISP performs a ping or similar actions...
If the IP resembles to your IP, for instance if you have the following IP:
and an IP like
tries to connect to your box that could be another user from the same ISP.
