Franco
What about the late Spanish dictator Francisco Franco?
Was he really a fascist?
Any Spaniards on the forum?
What's your opinion?
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

El Caudillo!
Franco was a fascist, perhaps a product of his family background, religious mother and overlly strict father made him a little dictator-like!
He was a brave soldier to say the least and despite myth was not the youngest General in Europe even if he said he was!
Spaniards! To whom ever feels a holy love of Spain....the Nation calls you to he defense.
The opening lines of a manifesto issued by Franco to the Spanish people on 19 July 1936.
He accepted the help of both Hitler and Mussolini in the Spanish war, of course he was a fascist, an extreme fascist at that.
He recieved help in the form of the Luftwaffe and 16,000 German soldiers and the Condor Legion! Mussolini sent 50,000 'Volunteers' and the navy helped out too!
He was a Nationalist to the core and a convinced anti-comminist, he obviously was against the Anarchist Groups such as the FAI and the CND.
I have more on this subject but the topic is a little vague, ask more and I'll see what I can add!

I heard a rumor that the Spanish Gov't issued Spanish passports
to a number of sephardic jews, thus enabling them to escape
the holocaust.
