    Question Can this happen?

Is it possible to route a call trough a computer with cable internet, so that it looks like it came from your personal tell #? I was on my way to work, and i got a call on my cell phone. I didn't know who the hell it was, and after I got off I traced the # and it was placed from my business line in the basement of my house, and there was no one home at the time.... Also I have gotten some calls from a person who says that he was from at&t, at 3:00 A.M. in the morning!

If someone could help I would be very gratefull,

P.S. My systems have been compromised, is it true that you can hack a firewall like blackice defender with a properly named trojan?

Is it me or is there a sevear conflict between the text & signature line?

To follow the original question line... As said, yes, this can happen with ease. Sounds like someone who knows you as they also knew your pager number. Unless it's easily refrenced on your home system.

To go the next step... using slight internet phone software, they can also from their system connect to yours and dial to the other side of the world. Voice quality could very, but easy to do. Or... use as a hop to hide a breakin by routing through your modem to a dial up service provider.

But is there a way to have a modem answer an incoming phone call?
I wanted to use an older pc as an answering machine(as you can see I have too much free time).
