Talking In case muzak is too exciting for ya...

Linux code hits airwaves down under
    By Robert Jaques [06-02-2002]
Serious Linux fans can tune into an Australian radio network which has started a mammoth project (surely penguin project, Ed) to read out the four million lines of code which comprise the operating system's kernel.
Radioqualia said that it launched the bizarre project to celebrate the fourth birthday of the open source movement.

The radio broadcaster is estimating that the entire computer-generated recital will take almost two years.

Clive Longbottom, services director at analyst QuoCirca, kept his tongue firmly in check when he pointed out an obvious flaw in the project.

"The problem is that you will have to record 16 hours a day to make sure you don't miss the most exciting bits when you're asleep," he said.

Are you serious?? Maybe I'll tune into that when the music gets a bit dull.

But seriously, what would the point of this be?
    - they wouldn't make profit
    - fun...ummm...reading code for 16 hours a day?? ...not my type of fun
    - I'm guessing the majority of Australians would NOT tune in...me one of them

Can anyone see a beneficial point?
