    Internet Explorer for UNIX

M$ now have an Internet Explorer for Solaris, and UNIX.

Can a Linux version be far behind ?

Don't count on it. Solaris (especially now thanks to the discontinuation of intel solaris) is not geared towards the desktop user, nor is HPUX. Linux on the other hand is and for now until MS buys out Redhat, MS would not feed the competition

IE for solaris? I don't see the rationale. Those using solaris will surely not want a msoft product on their box.

And the fungus of M$ spreads across the land bringin with it death and crashes....more to come.

Linux is still a server OS. Techinally. I can't remember who, but one of the big shots in Open Source came right out and said that the purpose of linux is not to take over the desktop, it is a server bassed operating system. That doens't mean that "everyone" else doesn't want it as a desktop OS, but that is not where the kernel is heading. If IE runs on Unix, it shouldn't be to hard to get it to run an linux.

As for IE running on unix/solaris, I think some will do it. There are to many websites out already that only work with IE. I had to install it on one of our accounting computers, because they needed access to some companies site, and Netscape wasn't supported.
