hmmm true.. it could be used as a great weapon for Distributed Denial Of Service..

Yeah, this is true, but hardly surprising: I always use this simple rule of thumb: the more computers you combine, the more of a security risk you could have on your hands.
As said in the article, using just one connection for this group of computers reduces the risk, it also reduces the usability of your cluster.
