The penragon has shut down a short lived office that reportedly considered planting false news stories abroad to curry favor for U.S. policies.
The Defense Department created the office after the Sept. 11th terror attacks. Rumsfield said the office was created to help get out the United States' side of the story to counter views of opponentssuch as the Taliban, now ousted rulers of Afghanistan, and the Al-Qaida terrorist network sheltered by the Taliban.
Last week, reports surfaced that the office had proposed giving false information to foreign journalists to further the U.S. war against terrorism.
The New York Times reported that the office, headed by Air Force Brig. Gen. Simon Worden, had begun circulating classified proposals that recommended using the Internet and clandestine operations to spread such disinformation.

This story was really long so I just highlighted the important things.....

i posted the full article about a similar/the same topic here . but this doesn't surprise me in the least. it is just another thing that our government thought was a great idea. maybe that's why 1/3rd of the world hates the U.S. (this can be found on official polls that were on CNN.com a few days ago... not sure if they still are though)

Thats what an old friend of mine once said.. And its true.. especially the sept 11 issue.. which is quite debatable.. each side has its own story and each side has made mistakes..

This news isnt quite shocking to me, knowing that the Govt can be very infulencial and wont hessitate using that influence...

Sorry harram77 Im not trying to take over your post I thought you would like to see more on the subject of corruption. Yes Ill let you know when I get more, mostly the site will be a link system to other sites I find. check out the book by al martin, He f-ed over some big wigs with this book.

Nah I ain't slagging ghost - geobuilder is what I started out on Got bored of the restrictions and started learning flash - then discovered moonfruit.com - another builder but this time for flash sites...got bored of restrictions again started learning flash - so if it wern't for the builders I prolly would never have been intrested in web-design it made it accesable you know? And gave me a thirst to be able to do more - so keep going man

about the website lay out.. if you need some help you can ask some of the web experts.. though i would recomend my lil sister but she is out of town, traveling around the world i guess.. hehe quite hectic life for a 16 yr old girl.. i wonder whats keeping her going.. never the less.. she is a wizz in html..

As for me.. the only thing i can offer is my inteligence.. which some people find tempermental.. coz sometimes its there.. sometimes its not.. hehe like David Copperfield.. haha
