Question aureal vortex (au8830) drivers for linux.

Do you know where I can download drivers for my Aureal Vortex (au8830) sound card?
I have founded drivers here, but are for an older kernel's version.
I have a 2.4.7-10 kernel. Can you help me?
    Thanks.

I think you're going to be looking for a while unless you happen to run into someone who's got the same card because Aureal went out of business over 2 years ago being bought out by someone (Creative I think). Best of luck to you though.

This is very weird. The same day I install Mandrake 8.1 to mess around with, and install my Geforce 2 drivers, someone else posts here asking how, and now, same thing! I have the Au8820 chipset (TBS Montego Dell OEM) and I've been trying to get it to work. Thus far, I have not succeeded. I've been trying for quite some time to recompile a kernel with soundcore.o support native (but not a module) but still haven't gotten the sourceforge drivers to work. The new kernels I'm compiling keep being unable to 'open initial console' which I haven't yet solved.

If I get any luck using Mandrake 8.2, I'll drop you a line. (PM me sometime so I don't forget.) I get all these 'unrecognized symbol' bits when trying to load the modules, currently. I also had to update my version of... whatever the GNU utils bit that supplies the 'make' command was.

Bottom line: I'm suffering too, and I don't know why it isn't working.
