Ok. Don't you hate it when you can recite assembly code in your sleep, but can't figure out how to do something as simple as shutting off that damned autorun on Windows 2000? Well, i'm having that problem right about now. I can't find anywhere in any of my books or in the OS itself how to shut the damned thing off. Somebody please help.

if you hold shift down while you insert the cd it should bypass it

run msconfig
it's in all the M$ systems......just type msconfig in the run command, and POOF instanf accsess to all the unnessesary blarf.......

Are you talking about when you put a cd in? Ummmm all I used to do was hold shift (on win95) dunno if that still works for 2000 and for the life of me I can't remember where the option is to shut it off, bah!! this might help tho

If you want to disable it permanently you can edit the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/currentcontrolset/services/cdrom
Edit the autorun and set to 0
