    Disableing sunrpc

    Hiya,

How do I disable port 111 on my linux box? A netstat --inet says it is listening on 111.
I guess I don't need it and I'd be perfectly happy with 22 as the only listening port.

    Any ideas?

What distro of *nix you using? I know on slackware, in the /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2 file thats where you disable it. Post a reply as to what distro your using, and I'll try to help you out.

You can also edit your etc/inetd.conf and etc/services then restart daemon.
