Heads up on Audiogalaxy
This really gets me. So I have Audiogalaxy and I actually pay for the monthly usage so that nobody can say I'm leeching mp3s. I barely use it but I figure 3 bucks a month or whatever it is is worth keeping just in case I do need it. And since I wanted to get the latest update, I went out and got it. Installed 0.608 just fine, nothing out of the ordinary and went on to playing RTCW like a mad f3wl.
Imagine my surprise when I get booted from RTCW twice to answer Sygate's questions.
"Do you want Gator to be allowed to access the internet?"
"Do you want CMN to be allowed to access the internet?"
Jesus...joy thrill. Gator's one of those programs who won't ever die. It's the cockroach who's survived a million nuclear strikes and still pervades machines everywhere... So I click No twice and get back to RTCW. While I'm blasting Allies merrily I get to thinking that I need to run Ad-Adaware so I can have a nice clean registry.
So I finish that game and go to Ad-Aware which has never failed yet and crank it up. Imagine my REAL surprise at the report:
11 total found, 7 files, 2 registry keys, 2 registry values.
Ad-aware's about to get another donation from me and audiogalaxy just got a rather nasty email stating that if this is how they treat their paying customers, God alone help the ones who don't pay.
We the willing, led by the unknowing, have been doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much with so little for so long that we are now qualified to do just about anything with almost nothing.

Vorlin, things were worse for me when working with my mothers computer. After I uninstalled Gator, my web browser popped up and took me to their site demanding a reason why I had uninstalled it. I almost replied to this with a big "**** You" but wised up instantly realizing this was another mass marketing ploy. Next I ran ad aware and 19 entries were dedicated to gator spyware. Keep in mind this was after the uninstall.

audiogalaxy during the install gives you the option NOT to install this software. They do have to make money you know.

Gator needs to be shut down and so does the ad for spy cams. gator will load itself anyways even if you say no, Ive seen it in my own computer. I didnt realize that audiogalaxy was only good for so long, maybe thats why I cant get a connection to them anymore.

what gater is doing IS theft of services. you say, no, i don't want you on my computer. trust that you answer is accepted and it installs itself anyway. Their stealing the connection we pay for and take up bandwidth they have no right too. every body has to pay so these bastards can make a bundle depriving us of our privacy. if i wanted to take part in a survey, id sign up for one and get paid.
thanks for the heads up

I was looking at Audiogalaxy and found this. The Audiogalaxy Satellite is ad-supported software. It is part of the Gator Advertising and Information Network(GAIN), which helps keep software free by delivering messages based on the sites you view. Is it free or thay harrass
you with advertisments.
