Smile Any remedies to track and identify these port scanners

    Hi there!

Can anyone tell me how to track and identify port scanners?

What I want to know is where on earth these port scanning originated and how to identify their identity?

    Thanks

Well you could first of all take their IP (I'm sure you already have that) and then run a traceroute on it. You will see who is his ISP, and you can then report the scanner at abuse@isp.com !

    Lightbulb You could try...

...using NeoTrace. There is probably a trial version availiable for download. Hope this helps.

To tell you the truth Most people running a scan on you are Script kiddies and if you turn around and run a port scan on them theyll turn tail and run. So dont give to much attention to scanners
