Post groan. Captin it's gonta blow!

    I had to do it.

Was in my etc/rcx scripts and copying out some to fd for evaluation later. Then, lo, the file manager froze when I was in between copying. A msg pops up but is unreadable. Then something like vfstab no such file found and boom, klingons attack. So I booted it in a variety of ways but it won't talk to me. After a while I thought I might have to reload the OS but it won't let me.

The console msg is "fast data access MMU miss". Sounds like an asic died but?

system is u5, solaris 7, fully patched, plenty of disk space left in all fs and 256 ram, 400 mhz.

    Any ideas?

bad RAM. Almost 100% positive. Seen it here plenty of times.
