It's a shame to see RedHat doing poorly. I've been out to Durham twice for training and everyone I met there was very friendly. And of course the OS is pretty good too. Since I'll be going back one more time for training, perhaps I'll get to see their new facilities. I'm sure RedHat will be back in the groove again soon.

I guess this again raises the issue of the viability of open source as an effective financial model. The thing is, I wouldn't mind paying money for an OS like Redhat because I know that I will be getting a product of good quality with excellent support.

Itís hard being open source and making a profit at the same time. M$ should try it some time.
