Post Morpheus DOES contain spyware... or doesn't it?

StreamCast Networks, distributor of the popular Morpheus software, is quietly counting the number of times its file swappers visit high-profile shopping sites.
The company on Tuesday said it has begun installing a Web browser add-on that sends some Morpheus users on an invisible Web detour aimed at capturing data about file swappers' surfing habits.

Next I examined the bpboh.dll file, and found all sorts of curious
references in it: one to "BuyersPort" (the 'Shop' page on the new
Morpheus), a few to Barnes and Noble, Sephora...
I searched for that bpboh.dll-file on my box... couldn't find it anywhere...
    Downloaded the source-code... nothing either...

There SHOULD be a law against spyware, just adds unwanted files and ads to you computer, and sometimes even worse

I always had a bad feeling about morpheus, I-mesh and all the rest. But then I remember that I have no personal information worth stealing and I feel a little better.
Its not software piracy. I’m just making multiple off site backups.

All the major services have spyware on them...even gator and flyswat(which really suck). Aimster is the only place I trust...for now.
And since i'm already writing, I just thought I would let you know that AOL is a legalized virus. It does nothing but screw you.

Interesting enough, I installed morpheus and ended up with some damn pr0n advertisement that kept popping up.. It was a IE page with a link to some German pr0n site.

When I found the app and removed it. Morpheus kept dying on me.

    hmmm.. back to gnutella. <grin>
Random number generation is just too damn important to be left up to chance!
