    Win XP Detection

Any suggestions as to identifying Win XP workstations on our LAN? I've tried nmap, but it identifies XP as either Win2K or Win ME.

On you lan? Look at the screen, that will tell you what os it is

I am not sure how you want to do this. I believe that XP has a default share called "Shared Docs" so you could just check the shares on each machine. Also, I think that nmap will probably be updated to identify XP eventually.

Yeah, I too think nmap will be updated, wait a little while and see what happens, considering XP has been out so long you'd think they'd have it updated by now.... ?
