Post Keyboard not there... Or is it?

I came across this cool thing online. An Israeli company has made a keyboard they is made out of light, but acts as a real keyboard. Its pretty darn kool! Check out their website!

Very cool. greenies to the messenger.

OK, I know it's not as cool as a virtual keyboard, but it's more likely to be commercially available within a year.

Yeah, I saw that one a while ago... but it seems like it's missing one rather important thing... feedback. That is, feedback to a touch-typist's fingers to tell them what keys they're hitting; personally, I think I'd find it fairly difficult to type on... then again, it's not like I'm looking at my fingers as I type... *shrug* Dunno, maybe it's not important.

Seems the "cool" place for these to show up is the high-tech NOCs that sales people like to show potential customers as they try to talk them in to co-lo'ing with them. As far as at the desktop or home office level - well, for those people that "have to have all the toys" I guess...

On a related note... someone once made a rather nice ergonomic chair (have to find the company URL again) that was, essentially, a "personal work environment." It was a completely self-contained work area with a chair and up to two or three monitors. The chair could be firmed or softened (through air pumps built-in to the chair), heated or cooled, and the entire structure could rotate automatically to reduce glare (as with the sun passing overhead - it would move like 180 degrees over 12 hours or something like that). I have a brochure at home somewhere... I'll have to find the URL and post it for everyone (that is, if the company's even still in-business - these things were approaching the price of a small car, of course)

well, as stated above feedback is a problem, but think about the problems caused by the repeated impact of your fingers on a object with pretty much no give at all. just sitting here i "typed out" my name on my desk and i found it quite un-comfortable. besides, one would have to make some etchings or something in the desk or whatever surface you want to use to help you find the home row without looking.

basically, its cool tech, but probably completely useless.

I saw this in the paper about a month ago; seems like a good idea for a pda or message capable cell phone. I suspect that this tech is a long way from market.
Its not software piracy. Iím just making multiple off site backups.

Good technology, but I myself prefer to hear the sound of typing, I like it

The coolest keyboard I have seen was a rubbermaid keyboard sold at compUSA. Its good for all those (opps I spilled my coffee) people.
