Are crack sites illegal?
I'm talking about places like www.thecrack.net or www.cracks.am. I'm sure you guys know this already, but what they do is provide programs that break protection codes on software. So if they're not illegal, why not? Their role is not very different from that of Warez sites.

Offcourse they are illegal, they're just a bunch of warez pirates who overload their pages with banners and popups. And if you try to download anything they will load you with spyware, www.lop.com as your startpage and that stupid bonzi monkey.

Actually, it can't exactly be illegal to have a site that has cracks on it. It can only be illegal to host it there, or as I think Ac1d stated, to download the cracks on the page. Not all countries have the same laws, therefore you can't say if one thing is deemed "illegal" to be on the internet...that would be regulating the internet and you'd need an online "police force" and that is just not reasonable.
