norton personal firewall?
I have just downloaded Norton Personal Firewall 2002. Is this firewall any good?

I hope you paid for it...
It is good, it's not the most configurable, but it's the easiest one I've used.
So if you don't know what you're doing, Norton Personal Firewall is your best choice.

Make sure you test your Firewall out with Steve Gibsons "Shields Up" test. It's one of the quickest and best software firewall tester's online. You can run the test here.

I've been using it on my XP box since December, and it seems to be doing the job. But just because you've got a firewall don't forget your box has other vulnerabilities. If you don't apply patches a firewall won't do any good.

my system has passed 4 vulnerability scanners with this program on. it seems to be working good so far. today it found an attack using NetBus and it blocked the attackers IP.
