search AO and google for "dual boot linux". I'm sure you'll get a lot of docs.

If you use Windows as your default boot, and you have other OSes, and you have a FAT-filesystem, check out XOSL. You can install it straight from windows. It's a fairly good free boot manager. It even comes with a partition manager and a cd-rom booter. You can also password-protect bootups...

    Quick and easy...

    1> Partion hard drive
    2> Install Win 9x
    3> Install linux
a> Make lilo (or grub) your installer
    4> reboot machine

You will have options for dos/windows and linux when you reboot.

    1> Partion hard drive
2> Install Win 9x # if you have partition magic just shrink windoze and go to step 3
    3> Install linux
a> Make lilo (or grub) your installer # grub is newer easier to configure...get grubby
    4> reboot machine

Note avoid FAT and VFAT where possible they are extremely outdated
    Even NTFS is old

    A very common question on [URL=http://www.linuxquestions.orglinuxquestions/URL] .
