Man the US is the only one starting to crackdown on hackers........So is Europe.

Now that's some serious stuff......
About time, others take this thing serious... I'm still waiting for Canada to take things more serious.... So far, the only thing I've noticed is a crackdown on pedophiles and kiddie porn...

Scary stuff, but they don't know what a hacker really is. It seems to me that Europe is just as bad as the U.S., or every other country so far, when it comes to claiming that hackers break into the system for malichious intent. Oh well I guess they will never learn.
If you don\'t tell me what I want to know, in 5 minutes I\'ll be the only person left standing at this table...5 minutes after that, I\'ll be the only person left standing in this room.

I find some of that interesting... Every victim is the 'spreader' of a computer virus. Does that mean all the victims must go to jail? Also, the gambling sites... given that they are financial sites, almost like banks, you would expect them to take security seriously even without legislation to go after criminals.

"There is clearly a Mafia approach. There have also been sophisticated organized attempts to steal substantial sums from banking services," he said.
It also targets anyone who sends computer viruses such as the infamous "I love you" virus--which caused major information system breakdowns across the world in 2000--as well as other types of destructive software such as "logic bombs," "worms" and "Trojan horses."
If approved, the law will lead to prison sentences of at least one year for acts of cybercrime and at least four years in attacks that caused physical harm, large economic losses or gains, or that involve an organized crime network
It defines hacking as gaining unauthorized access to an information system with the intent to cause damage or for economic gain.
They have the wrong idea's about hackers. They are talking about script kiddys and crackers and blameing it on hackers. That's not cool!

I would doubt anything to serious will happen in Canada. Mostly because hackerís generally labeled terrorist here.
Its not software piracy. Iím just making multiple off site backups.
