Well, aside from the comments like

Why don't you write your own?
    or

    Google is your friend
    ,

you should try to be a little more specific for starters. For example:

    - What kind of security are we talking about? Physical, network, financial?
    - What is the expected result of the project? A paper? Software?

Without details, there is so much we could point you to that it would become pointless.

    Cheers,

Geez, talking about a vague question. You could start by defining what it is you need to do, perhaps why you're "qualified" or have been asked to do such a thing, etc.

It would be like me saying I've been asked to do a paper on "food," too, and leaving it at that... (or something equally inane)

    alright..hint taken
I have to either write a paper on networing security issues eg: new vulnerabilities in the ever growing list for microsoft
or a paper on some new and exciting idea in cryptographic analysis or network security
or perhaps give explicit instructions on how to make dangerous worms or viruses using common household items.
im doing a course on cryptography...hence the assignment
if the idea is nice enough i'll probably work on the related software...
    thanks for the hint guys..

Well, one site I might start with is Security Focus (http://online.securityfocus.com/)

They have a good list of things on there and should have an area dedicated to M$ and the oodles of crap therein.

Not quite sure why the "network security" assignment in a crypto/math course, but, hey... I've not been in school for a while now. *shrug*
