I don't want to crash other peoples computers. I don't want to delete anything. I don't want to give them virii. I don't want to steal stuff.. All I want to do is look around. That's it. And please don't flame. All you have to say is 'It's illegal.. look somewhere else'. Thanks

And please don't flame. All you have to say is 'It's illegal...look somewhere else'

Ok zero ice you say all you want to do is explore and see what computers can do. Well you can start by learning things at home. You'd be surprised about what you don't know about your own system. So here are a few tips to help you out in your quest for "knowledge":

    1. If you haven't already learn a programming language and write some nice programs. I recommend VB
    2. If you are fed up with the blue screen of death switch to a linux OS
    3. If you don't feel like learning a new OS set up a home network and experiment with that. Now thats lots of fun!!!
    4. Now once you've played around with that Learn Linux
    5. Now set up a home network using linux as the server and the client
    6. Set up a home network using linux as the server and Windows as the client

Just some tips to help you out. There are lots of resources on the net about these topics (like right here in AO) and I'm sure we'd be glad to help you out in these endevours.

    hi

if you want to explore a windows pc i recommend learning the DOS basics as well. among the best books for this are: MS-DOS 5.0 Users Manual/Guide, MS-DOS 6.22 Users Manual/Guide, any Dummies Guide to DOS, if they do exist, and various documentation / help files / HOWTOs / tutorials on the net and in your local bookstores. after that, if you believe that you are up to it, and ready for another challenge, i recommend playing around with linux, and never mind windows at all. =)

    regards,
    mark.
