    anyone here have sub7?

I am pissed at this sh*t where I can't delete this file. I read on a site that there is the creators e-mail address on the sub7 program. does anyone here have sub7? if you do is there an e-mail address anywhere on the program and what is it? McAfee Online chat can't even give me the instructions on getting rid of the file. I am going to e-mail the creators to demand removal instructions cause I am guessing that they are the only ones that know. thanks

Ok, I have an idea for you...
First go to these websites for info on disabling system restore....
    http://www.antivirus-online.de/english/infosr.php
    http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q264887

Then, Right click on the _RESTORE folder in windows explorer and click properties, in that Window uncheck the Hidden, Read-Only, and System File/Folder dialogs..... This should give you full read/write access to the folder in Windows and MS-DOS

After you got that, go to this next site for info on creating a boot disk or just reboot in MS-DOS mode...
    http://www.computerhope.com/boot.htm#05

Then after all that boot into MS-DOS mode and go to the C:/ drive, and do a cd to _RESTORE, then navigate your way to the file and delete it, if all else fails do a del C:/_Restore or a deltree /y C:/_RESTORE

    Hope this will help you

I have disabled system restore (it is disabled right now). I have ran an MS-DOS scan using McAfee VirusScan 6.02 (updated defs). I've tried everything. I used a boot disk (Windows Startup Disk using the Windows startup disk creation tool) to run the scan in dos. I've tried everything. Like I said, I have talked to a technician on McAfee Help Chat and they could not give me any instructions. The only thing that they told me to do is to bring it into a shop (which I don't wanna do cause everytime I do it costs me like $75 to get a virus removed). thats why I want to get in contact with the creators. They could have some updated registry cleaner or could direct me to one.

You should either search for it on google.com with sub7 removal tools or I'd check the registry and see what you can work with from there. If ya not used to the registry file then don't touch it cause it can mess up system files.

Funny... I went to http://vil.mcafee.com/ and typed in "Sub7" and up-it-came... basically one-click later, I get the removal instructions.

Search engines are ye'r friend, me friend - though ye really didn't need one (I believe there's a link to the "Virus Information Library" right off the front couple of pages on www.mcafee.com)

For subseven removal, has anyone tried The Cleaner by MooSoft ?
They have a demo version that might solve Ryan's subseven problem once and for all.

Ryan, If the scan doesnt show anything, How do you know that you are infected with Sub-7?
