    what is net?

    in dos there is a few programs called net.....i was wondering what the hell they did. do they allow you to connect to networks or something?

    Hmmm,
    I guess you might be talking about the netstat commands. They let you see the connection status of your computer. Go to a DOS prompt and type "netstat -a" without the quotation marks. Hit enter.     no, he's refering to the windows networking commands..

    net use, net view, net time...

    -> Start -> help -> search for net...

    type "net help" in a dos command box and enjoy. You can do a lot of things with this command.

    NET commands are commands in Windows 2000, NT and XP (I think) that perform functions on a network. To find out all of the commands, goto DOS and type "net". Typing "net" lists all of the functions included in it. To find out about each specific command, type "net [command] /?". Most of these commands are service-reliant, so don't expect to be able to use all of them.

    Search for people with netbios port open and then net send (ip address) and have fun.
