DOOM III said to be the best yet
They finnaly make the "environment" completely interactive. Including walls that can be destroyed by monsters. You will not be able to tell the difference between scenery and elements in the game. I can't wait. Set to be released in 2003.

Hmmm... perfect timing - sitting here thinking about upgrading my video card "soon." Though it looks like a GeForce3 TI500 -- any other suggestions out there? I hear the GeForce4 stuff isn't quite worth it yet... opinions?

I bought doom when it first came out, and I ran it on my old box, with dos6.0. I got really excited when doomII came out and bought it again right away, the same with Final Doom. I watched as doom single handly created a new form of computer games, first person shooters. I also saw as it crafted the ESRB and called several congressional hearings because of itself. Doom was and still is the best game ever, I am happy as hell to see that they are going to reshape the computer gaming world again! :P

I bought the GeForce4 so I could play Medal of Honor Multiplayer with some friends and it ran great. I've played a few other graphics intensive games since then, and it seems to handle them all with ease. Unfortunately, I can't compare it to the GeForce3 since I was upgrading from an onboard video card. The onboard card wasn't bad, it just couldn't handle the newer games. It even works beautifully with tuxracer in linux if you get the drivers from nVidia.
