Unhappy Microsoft, with that overwealmingly secure Windows 9x

Windows 9x... Secure... yes the title made no sence. I just heard of this bug,
With Windows 9x (95, 98, ME) (Tested only on 98 but thoeriticly they all are vaunurable) you can in internet explorer bring and instant Blue Screen of Death to you shoes. Because Microsoft nicly crashes when there is a request to the virtual device files. like:
CON, COM1, COM2, NUL, ect. They are the DOS/WIndows 9x Equiv of the /Dev entry's in Linux and other Unix OSes. But in Internet Explorer if i had an image link to: C:\CON\CON the system would crash instantly as the file C:\CON\CON is the Standard output of your machine. This could be fixed as the Bug only happens if you use Internet Explorer. I would get Mozilla imediatly get Mozilla if you have the win32.iexporer virus....

Anyway i figured this is a pretty productive post for a first on this forum.

I think that this has been brought up before. And I thought this was fixed with 98SE?

The problem was addresed in 98SE, I believe. But that's a little like putting a band-aid on a compound fracture.
Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor; but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it.

Bill is insecure. His products are unsecure.

No i dont belive as i tested the bug on 98 SE which is installed on my computer.... For finding bugs. Running the sorts of emails lamers send me and yes, testing with a stopwatch how long it take's for IE to crash well surfing.

Not realy the last one but Microsoft could enter the olyimpics if they had instability for a sport.
Nice to see the people on this forum arnt biased.... (I used to post simlar things on hackers.com but they
