    Auto-close banned users' threads

I think the threads started by a banned user should automatically be closed. That would prevent people flaming them more and more and that way keeping them at the main page.

    A: Because Oct 31 = Dec 25

Good idea I’m sick of seeing that sub7 thread every now and then.
Its not software piracy. I’m just making multiple off site backups.

But then they dont get a chance to post any time in the future.
It would be better if its for a time period like one week or something.

I, truthfully, don't really like the idea because people tend to get off of the main topic in long threads, and closing the thread just because the starter was banned could ruin an entire discussion. As long as people reply to the thread, there's still interest in some of it, which means a discussion is still going on. This shouldn't be stopped for such a reason, in my opinion.

I dont think that it would be a good idea to close the threads from banned persons.

Let them stay where they are, they still possibly serve for the deterrence.
If any "hotmail hacker" reads these threads and sees that people who create
such topics are flamed and banned, they probaly think about the aims of this
board and spares us with new threads of this kind.

Yeah, I also think that threads started by autoban people should be closed.

Yeah that'd be cool. Sometimes I see the odd System_Overload post pop up here and there...

Closing threads like that would become a little to Orwellean. That would be the beggining of censorship. The needs of a few don't serve many. Thats what belonging to the "neighborhood" entails. You have to take the good with the bad.

    Greetings:

I agree that this wouldn't be a good idea. Threads go too far off topic to be auto-closed because the originator was banned.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
