    how do i make a cross over cable

    i have an eight wire cable thats cut in half and ready to be spliced as a cross over cable, i just need to know which colors represent which wire to make it a cross over, please help......thanks

    how to make an ethernet crossover

    For ethernet/10BaseT:

    On one end you use 1,2,3, and 6. (colors don't matter if you aren't trying to be perfect or follow wiring standards)

    On the other end, use 3 and 6 in the first and second position, so that you have 3,6,1,2 in place of 1,2,3,6.

    For a T1 it's 1,2,4, and 5 with 4,5,1, and 2 on the other end.

    besides teh many many times Ive seen the cabling questions asked and answered and seen the Tuts some people took the time to make, www.google.com cat5 crossover cable.
    you really should look at a search engine/old threads before posting a new thread.
