hello everyone. i notice a lot of people asking questions about how to monitor ports and activity on their windows boxes. there are of course many ways to do this. the netstat command with the appropriate switches, personal firewalls, and port scanning your local host. every method does the job. however, i have come across a utility that is an all around great program. it allows real time monitoring of all ports and protocols, allows you to close services and ports that you specify, gives detailed system information, and more. all of this is in a very easy to use, point and click gui, perfect for noobs and advanced users alike. the link below will take you to the download. it will ask you to fill in some personal info before you download, but the program itself is free and created by the well known security company "foundstone".
