Hi, Here are some good bucks I have read:

Sams Teach Yourself C in 21 days ; (by Peter Aitken & Bradly Jones.)
Sams Teach Yourself Linux in 24 hours ; (by Bill Ball)
The 8051 Microcontroller ; (by Scott Mackenzie) Publisher: Prentice Hall.
Local Area Networks, The next generation ; (by Thomas W. Madron) Publisher: Wiley
JavaScript Manual of Style ; (by Marc Johnson) Publisher: Ziff-Davis Press

I rate the sams books 98%, I always liked their style and quality of writeing.
I rate the 8051 microcontroller 97% because it is well writen but contains some mistakes that could cause serious problems.
I rate Local Area Networks a 78% because it was a bit confuseing, non the less it was very usefull.
JavaScript of style is good for examples of javascript, how to use it to your benifit but not over use it.

I have a list of other good books too but they are more spasific to electronics engineering, but contain good information on how computers work.
