msnmssg port# ?
yeah i know im a newbie all that jazz, and i have looked at the tuts...got a bout 200pgs printed out for easy reading...
BUT..
my question is this: what port does msn messenger use...?
i mean when i talk to someone and use netstat -an or any other of the netstat options, i dont really follow...
so any help would be nice..im just trying to figure some of this out myself, not looking to violate anyone

okay so when i netstat -n the connection i get is the msn server..???
well i guess i have somemore reading to catchup on..

When you run netstat -n , all connection to your machine will be appear not just msn, also do netstat -a , the you will see the msn connections.

thanks, i was reading in yet another thread somewhere that inorder to get an ip address while on msn messenger you need to do netstat -n while you are transfering a file of some kind.. im just being curious i guess im trying to figure stuff out.
