Bypass a firewall??

I connect to the internet through another computer via LAN. That other computer has a firewall (proxy i think), so is there a way to bypass that proxy??

What are you trying to say here?
A secure site sometimes has the prexif https:// so it could be detected that way...

yea, so if someone looks through the proxy logs and sees a request for [https://thissitelookssuspicious.com], they might get curious, and talk to the person that uses that ip on the lan. or, maybe if the network doesn't use any secure sites like that, they might even block any outgoing connections with the dest port of 443, and that prog won't work.

yanksfan there’s a certain amount of trust involved when using a proxy. Your trusting the proxy admin with your privacy witch is good enough unless you've done something really bad and some vigilante takes the extra effort to call up the admin and hunt you down.

Well often with a LAN, only a few comp will actually have internet access, and the rest just leech off of those, the ones with comp access are configured to do stuff like block sites, filter DoS attacks and stuff. It is usually a good system, so unless your computer actually has internet access, there isn't really any way to bypass it. On the other hand, if it does, then I am sure you can just goto internet explorer, right click, properties, connection, LAN, and then take off the proxy.
