Also. Know various BIOS error beep codes. The 2 main ones you should know are AMI and Award.
AMI beep codes
------------------------------------------
1, 2, or 3 memory
4, 7, or 10 system board
5 CPU
6 keyboard
8 video card
9 ROM BIOS
11 cache
Award beep codes
---------------------------------------------------------
1 long memory
1 long then 2 short video controller
1 long then 3 short video controller
continuous memory or video
