Lets face it, M$ Security seems to be more of an oxymoron these days than a worthy concept. If it were up to me I'd go third party or a hardware firewall or as paldie put it, an inexpensive cable/dsl router. I think those things are down to about 75 bucks these days and they're well worth the investment. I run XP Pro and Linux and for my XP box I use Tiny Personal Firewall. I also hear that Agnitum Outpost is a really good free firewall for Win.

You I use a DSL Router and have been for a couple years (can it really be that long wow I guess it has) It works great. I run public website and host my own DNS (ok that not a invitation for everyone in the world to try and trash it I have to much to do to play that game...please) Like eeshman stated they are pretty cheap these days even the ones with the VPN option are under $100.00 (I guess I should really hook up the PIX I have sitting on my floor...LOL
My other Computer is a 4000 node Beowulf Custer

xp should only be used to control your refridgerator and microwave.
