Its thought that Mandrake, which people always considered a good version of your desktop, is gaining a lot of ground as use as a server. One such server running the Mandrake Linux Apache Advanced Extranet server is http://www.badconnections.net (shameless plug).

That is excellent. I was so close to purchasing another Linux distro so I could set up my small network, but now I can use my Mandrake OS. Good news, good news.

I currently use it for my test server which wwill hopefully become fully public when i get ADSL.

I've been using Madrake 8.1 with the 2.5.15 kernel, and I use it for a http and ftp server for a while so far. I'm glad ppl are waking up, and realizing there are better alternatives than M$.
