    Got porn on your computer?

Police said they found 40 pornographic photographs of children on Weiser's computer equipment.

Prosecutor Paul Tiffin they would have had no case against Weiser if he had not turned over his computer equipment.

According to court papers, Weiser said that he has been sexually attracted to young girls since he was 16 and that four doctors told him he did not have a problem.

better clean out that cache, you dirtbags!!

Actually, this is a strange case, which asks a lot of questions.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

    Talking about kiddie porn...

A guy in Canada fought the Supreme Court of Canada about his personal issue and his freedom of expression.

    Kiddie porn

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there a law in South Carolina that passed not to long ago regarding this type of thing? I think I read an article in a magazine in one of my classes.

If I remember it correctly it required any IT worker encountering child pornography to report it to the police immediately. The fury that it caused was the clause that held a worker who had the computer in her/his possession but did -not- find the porn responsible if a later worker found it.

If I'm a Support position, and a client brings me a machine to fix....I'm not digging through their HDD....I'm barely letting it boot. Only reason I'd have to dig is if the problem was software based, and even then I'm not digging through individual files. I highly doubt people with that type of disgusting perversion are going to nicely label a folder on the desktop "My Kiddie Porn", so how am I supposed to find it? No client would trust me if I searched every hard drive I came across, nor would it be time or cost effective to me to do so.

Terrorizing the children involved, maybe? I'm just trying to figure out how this will be incorporated into the war on terror.

Some people do label directories like that..... (dumbasses can't be clever and hide files in sub-directories of programs or encrypt them, or just password protect a .zip)

Sometimes, when people work on others computers, you don't necessarily browse the hardrive for files, but you can come accross files like

    12yrboy.jpg
    grl11master.jpg
    fatherdaughter.jpg
    babysit8boy.jpg
    and so....

    Very disturbing....

Also, people like that usually have a HUGE collection of images (I'm talking 100 to 20,000 images on their drives) Not stumbling accross 1:20,000 is quite difficult...

    Think about it......

Trying to get the image program to work (ie: Paintshop, Photoshop)
you click file and look at the bottom of that menu....
    "last edited image"
    file.jpg
    filebig.jpg
    c:\windows\image.bmp

you could see it that way or by clickin' on the start menu, then in the documents it'll list some files....

I have not had any porn problems, but I have found several programs used for cleaning your computer of evedence which I have found is good system maintence as it deletes a lot of junk and thus restores disk space that could be used for more usefull stuff. Some programs that will do the task for you are Jimmy surf, System mechanic, and evidence eliminator.

If you have used evidence eliminator, the log file it produces gives you a good idea what it is doing, thus you could very easily write a program that will delete files, delete or modify registry enteries, excetra. There are a good number of functions available to the C programer for editing the registry, as well as a good chunk of functions that can be used for searching and deleteing files.

MSIE from Microsoft for example has some common places where it stores junk such as C:\Windows\Cookies\
    C:\Windows\History\
    C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\

just to name a few, it also stores the recient url list in:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

Just to name a few storeage containers. When I learn enough C I will be makeing myself such a program.
In snatches, they learn something of the wisdom
which is of good, and more of the mere knowledge which is of evil. But must I know what must not come, for I shale become those of knowledgedome. Peace~
