    Post linux personal proxy

    http://www.distributed.net/download/proxies.html

the above address is where I found a good site which talks about a linux personal proxy. I am looking for feed-back on wheather or not that is a good one to try. I'm interested in setting one up just for the sake of doing it and it seems challenging (it says it's not for the meek) so I'm making sure it's a good choice. Thanks for feedback

This proxy are for the distributed.net client. It's only useful if you have a network were many computers are running the distributed.net client.

The proxy works but usually you do not need it.

Running a personal proxy is definitely not needed by everyone, nor is it universally recommended. You should only run a personal proxy if you are very confident of your abilities, and you have a very weak, unreliable, or intermittant connection to the Internet to directly contact one of the servers.
If you want to set up a proxy just for the good sake then I will advice you to take a look at Squid since I think you have better use of that knowledge .
