    search engines

    yes i know i am a newbie. so can anyone help me with this...i made a website and i want to distribute it to the search engines. so it can easily be found by anyone. is everything i need to do simply in these 4 tags?? what else can i do to ensure my website being found?

    Many search engines have a "submit URL" link where you can add your link to their database. It will usually go into an "interrogation" mode where they will check it's online status at random time for a few weeks to make sure it's a steady link, but afterwards it will be added to the live database. Here's a link describing how to do it on Yahoo!:

    There are programs that submit your site to a whole bunch of search engines at once. Try one of those.
