    Cool

    jehnx,

just a couple places to start. make sure that you have your content laid out nice and concisely. "expected" navigation goes a long way in design. don't try and overload your pages with text and images. info-glut is big turn off. and try and make good use of your white space.
check out builder.com as a good all around resource plus the layout is pretty smooth.

hope it helps. feel free to PM if you have any more questions.

    happy designing.

Thanks a ton, again, for everyone who's been adding to this thread and my knowledge with their advice and links. And thanks to anyone who's offered to help.

I dont see the problem of helping people out for free....

Sickdwarf has helped me many time.....just for free and just to learn more about designing, flash or photoshop.

I think it's cool to help eachother....so keep up the good work.

Free web templates can be found at: Open Source Web Design, some of which are very good, if you don't feel like creating your own design (I don't blame you, I've spent well over 4 years rebuilding my site from scratch - and that's with 5 years HTML experience!).
