    sftp without shell...

Is it possible to configure OpenSSH so that some users might have sftp access to there home dirs without giving them (allowing them to have) access to a shell on that machine?

In other words, like giving them an ftp shell only, but with sftp...

From what I've read it doesn't seem possible, but perhaps someone here knows better...

    TIA

You know what? I don't think that's possible. In fact I tried a couple of scenarios and none of them work. (i.e. /bin/false)
If you figure out a way i'd love to hear it.
