    best p2p proggy for movies

just figured for some of the members with less time to browse around it might help to give a list of the best p2p programs for downloading stuff in general. theres a site with a list at http://p2ptransfers.com/filelist.html but theres not very man for linux ;(
Audiogalaxy WAS just for getting mp3's but they've been shut down so for now my vote for the best would have to go to kazaa, but if you run windows most of the time then WinMX is better.
I did not come here to tell you how it is going to end, I came here to tell you how it was going to begin. I\'m going to hang up this phone, then I\'m going to tell these people what you don\'t want them to hear.

Kazaa does a good job, tons of users and files. Admittedly there is a ton of spyware, but this can be overcome. A program called SpyBot Search&Destroy ( http://beam.to/spybotsd ) will remove the spyware but leaves the program itself intact and in working order. All the Cydoor files are replaced with 'dummy' files to keep everything in working order. BTW, the SpyBot site is in German, so look to your left for the english flag to switch the language. Good luck and happy downloading!

I still look on IRC, that shows you how outdated I am.

I've been using Limewire for a while now and it works well with Linux and Windows. I've heard of some spyware problems with Limewire, but as of yet, I've not had any problems of the sort. Oh, you can get it at http://www.limewire.com/ . While we're on the subject, does anyone know of a better p2p program that's been ported to linux and if so where can one obtain it?

I used to use Imesh, but then for a while, there was hardly any content. I moved to kazaa after having using Morpheus for a while, thanks allenb for the spyware removal proggy! :-)

I use Gnucleus... Uses same network as LimeWire (Gnutella). It is Open-Source (GPL), and is supposed to compile under MSVC++6.0... It is updated regularly, and has many features. Precompiled binaries are avaliable, souce included, auto-update feature, and no SpyWare! I think it only runs under Windows, though, but it is a great program. I could go on and on about this program, but here's a link to the site...

I believe Kazaa & IRC are a great combination.... Please PM ME if you have a p2p that runs as good as Kazaa w/o the spyware. Also does anyone else have a problem running Kazaa on WinXP. I shut off all the default settings, and it seems when I am in Kazaa. I cannot use certain functions without errors..

For dvd's/ divx I use kazaa because they have faster people sending and you can find the fastest, but for new releases I use IRC because they don't have any fake files like the other programs do.
