advice needed- BroadGuard NBG800 Secure Cable/DSL Router

I'd like to get opinions from you folks on this router.. a friend asked me for help in setting
up a home network for his 3 windows boxes and connecting to his cable provider. While
talking to another friend about this, he recommended this particular router saying for the
price it provided what higher end routers do for a small fraction of the price (it's now 80usd)

    http://store.yahoo.com/sohowaredirect/nbg800.html

All the reviews I've seen have been somewhat outdated ..

does this look like a good router to get ? (considering the price)

    TIA,
    SDG

Professional-level "always on" Internet Firewall - secure against sophisticated hacker attacks
    * Supports Virtual Private Networking - allow a secure tunnel to a business server without leaving home

    * Expand a Network When You Are Ready - includes a four port, 10/100 autosensing switch to expand a network

    * Web Browser Interface Accessible From Any PC - includes a users interface that informative yet simple to use and accessible from any computer on the network

    * Enhance Access Control - Parents and business managers can monitor web surfing activity

    * Handles any expansion requirement with up to 253 users sharing one Internet account
If cost is a major issue then this is more than enough router/switch/firewall to run a micro network like you described, besides, if its not enough you can get your money back on it by selling it on e-bay, or to a neighbor....at least most of it.

I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?

Look s fine[after the firmware upgrades]

It s what s important to him/her[parental control and warning-emails i personally don t care]
    Also use a soft-ware firewall!

When you know what he finds important start comparing others than decide.

I use the xDSL router from sitecom.
i m gone, thx everyone for so much fun and good info.
    cheers and good bye
