First you should've searched AO for your qeustion but click here:http://www.antionline.com/showthread...hreadid=232394
And:http://www.antionline.com/showthread...hreadid=232538
I suppose you don't want Windows at all..so this is the way I did it: go into command prompt(Start=>Run=>command) then type Deltree C:\*.* then type yes for everything then shutdown your computer.. put the CD in your CD-ROM then go into BIOS (on your computers boot screen press ESC then make it so your computer boots of a CD first) Now follow the instructions and you should be fine...If you are new to Linux then make a boot disk, set Linux as a workstation and try GNOME. I hope this helped you. This may not be the best way to install, but it worked for me.
Best of Luck,

I want to convert to Linux too, but the problem is about my drivers. Will Linux support that?
Thanks for any help.

But I would think that the new red hat distros would support things like firewire, what version are you using? For maximum support, download/buy the new red hat 8, enigma. It should have support for most new technologies, like firewire. And yes, I know that firewire isn't exactly new, but you know what I mean.

tweak yr kernels ;)
FireWire or USB2.0(s) support is basically bout yr kernel...
make sure u install USB-UHCI and hotplug rpms under RH 7.2.
since yr using RH7.2, it has kernel 2.4-xx which has USB support built in.
look for USB howto for details.

True, but if somebody is having trouble with it, then they would be better off getting 8, where the support is included, kernel editing, can be stressful if you don't have a lot of experience with it. Then best choice would be to get the update from redhat.com or to just get rh8. Kernel modifications are can be cofusing sometimes, and if you make some mistakes, well, you can end up having caused more problems than you created. Of course, all the support that red hat offers is built into the kernel, but kernels can be easily updated from the rh site.

Nth Man: Also make sure you have the docking station in while installing Redhat or whatever Linux Distribution it is, the kernel will get configured for firewire/USB support when you have it plugged in and installing. If you did have it plugged in, do what CipherX said, www.linuxdocs.org has good tutorials/howtos.
