Talking I need help installing apache, php, mysql, and an invision board please.

I am trying to instal MySQL 3.23.51, Apache 2.0.39, PHP 4.2.1-win32, on my win2k box so I can basically "play" with an Invision Board. I am familiar with win2k but I wish to learn these programs. I eventually I want to put this board to work on a dedicated server.

Can anyone possibly help me with this to get started? All I need is a budge in the right direction.
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?

Thanks JCHostingAdmin, I got Apache up and running...no problem, I believe PHP is installed correctly, only I cannot seem to make MySQL to work at all.

Sudo Those sites are where I downloaded the archives and the MySQL site is dedicated to *nix boxes and has very little on win32 installs.

Yeah, I know what you mean; I have MySQL and it is a very complex program to learn. The manual is at least 1000+ pages and takes a some time to sit there and read it. If you're like me, I like things to work NOW, and see the results Impatience is not a virtue on my part...

The board I have used in the past was not PHP but ASP scripts that could use MySQL. It was called Snitz Forums 2000 and is quite neat; however, it sucks compared to this board. Anyway, you can get a copy of Snitz here: http://forum.snitz.com and it open source.

    Good Luck!

Well, you're gonna have some fun getting PHP 4.2.2 (get the patched update for July 22nd's bug) working with Apache 2.0.39. Some weird black magic voodoo or something, I dunno. 1.3.26 is what I'm on and I've got PHP 4.2.2 and Postgresql 7.2.1. As for the bulletin board, you might think about www.phpbb.com as that's what I've used and it's great.
We the willing, led by the unknowing, have been doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much with so little for so long that we are now qualified to do just about anything with almost nothing.

I really want to use the Invision Board, it has everything I need to do what I want. Where are the people who put this board together?

I know that it has to be something simple.

I'm not familliar with Invision, but I have to agree with Vorlin: phpbb is easy to setup and offers most features you can think of.
I wish to express my gratitude to the people of Italy. Thank you for inventing pizza.
