Help! Please! XP is HORRIBLE!
Okay.. I have two problems.. First..
I can't install Java Virtual Machine.. Therefore I am unable to enter chats, or do many things online, including viewing Antionline correctly.. How do I install it on Windows XP Professional..?
Second.. I've been looking for a driver.. For: LG CD-RW CED-8080B with Windows XP Professional support.. The CD-Rom was working for a short while.. But the drivers were out of date, and I was unable to burn CDs..
Please help! Thank you so much..

First suggestion would be that you go to the windows update page. There well may be updated drivers there as well as the numerous critical updates that have surfaced since the release of XP. Then head over to the downloads page to get VM.

In addition, head over to http://www.driverguide.com/indexddc.htm if you can't find a driver at the MS site

Goto http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html solves problem 1 as for the CDRW that would be called M$ digital rights management, even if you own the CD you cannot burn a copy for the car. Call you insurance company and complain that M$ makes you haul around thousands in legally bought CD's and they are subject to theft. Then have the insurance all the whom ever people that complain they lost sales cause the art is their marketing not the music it's art. Let the insurance people ask M$ why you have to haul around originals in spite of the "fair use act"

ok, first Professional is limited to what you can install, so use home edition. second, i use nero 5.5 and it works fine. But first you have to go to windows explorer, right cick on the cd_rw drive and click properties. then go to burning tab and unselect the ticked box that burns through windows. then nero should work.

That is what I found too. I agree with qwerty_smith that you need to be more specific. Can't offer help if don't know what the nature of your problem is.
If the above link doesn't help you can usually download newer drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Good luck

If you need the MS Java Virtual Machine, PM me with a working e-mail address and I'll e-mail it to you (I did it for someone else recently too, since MS pulled it off of their site).
As for the burning, download the updates for either Nero - Burning Rom or Roxio Easy CD Creator. They should allow the CD writer to work. You don't need specific drivers... XP will automatically detect it. But you need an XP compatible cd-writing program to allow for the actual writing process (I personally like Nero much more than Roxio)
